We often have visions of things we want to accomplish but don’t always have a blueprint or support to get there. In the last two years, we have worked with our partners to offer 4 women's only solar lab classes, and when polled, every single one of our students said having a women's only lab class was important to them. Creating spaces specifically for women can be vital for many reasons:
Comfort: Women-only spaces can provide a sense of safety and comfort, especially in environments where students may feel vulnerable. This can be particularly important in settings such as learning about new technical concepts or when learning how to use tools.
Empowerment: Women-only spaces can empower women by providing them with opportunities to express themselves freely, share experiences, and support one another without fear of judgment or interruption. This can foster a sense of solidarity and confidence….
