Lena co-owns a renewable energy design and installation company in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Nunatak Alternative Energy Solutions, with her husband Jay. They work on all kinds of PV projects, specializing in remote off-grid power. She has worked with Solar Energy International Pro Services and Engineering on PV system design from residential to MW scale since 2015. Lena was a graduate from SEI in 2005, and has worked as an electrician and for several solar installers. In between designing PV systems, teaching for SEI, and working on system design for SEIE, she occasionally found some time to also write articles for Home Power Magazine and serve on the NABCEP Ethics Committee. She was a high school teacher and outdoor educator for many years, has a BS from Tufts University, and has her NABCEP PV Installer certification.
